celeron will not be powerfull enough so a gaming rig ive got it on my latop and it runs great my dell vostro witch ive had for years but you cant really compare computers and laptops. gotfor a amd 2 x3

okay, so celerons out. narrowed down to amd x3 and x2 250. i thought that triple cores were dominated by duals though?

i have a 300w psu, but i can reach for a 550w if a NEED to. i got hd radeon 4670. works pretty good.

Nope, BFBC2 likes cores. X3 > X2

300W is cutting it fine for a HD4670, especially considering its probably a crap generic brand. What RAM do you have, it may not be compatible with the newer AM3 platform.

i've been running the 4670 for bout 2 years on the same psu with no problems. i got 2 gigs and im thinking ddr2

also, im not really looking to play bc2 ONLY. i do like to play it, but i also play mw2 sometimes and tf2 and black ops, and coming this fall, mw3 XD lol.

gotta love intel, especially at 2.93Ghz with dual core hyper threading.

and also, i just remembered something REALLY IMPORTANT!!!! the computer that im trying to boost rright now is an HP factory pc with the all the original parts, including mobo and hardrive. would i have to buy windows XP again to get a new mobo?

The Athlon II 445 Triple-Core Processor is more powerful than the Core 2 Duo E7500 because it has one extra core.

According to Intel's website the E7500 Processor does not have HyperThreading.

You would have also have to buy Windows again if you were getting a new motherboard and do not have a Windows installation disk. I would go with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium over Windows XP.

ya i would get windows 7 but like i said on my first post, my budget is tight. i'll probably end up downloading one. but ill stay with xp, and maybe add vista or 7. i wanna play halo 2 lol
