Tried to go with the geforce 7600 but the card was so hot I could not touch it, and kept shutting down the monitor. I returned card.

Can someone recommend a video card for around 100.00 for my PC, windows xp, 80GB hard drive, AMD 1666, Motherboard video card slot AGP8X, 500watts power, 1 GB ram, Video card 64MB card (fan dragging and dying)

I would like a card with a fan, that is the best deal for what I want to spend.

hi, sorry, i have no idea what you should get for 100 bucks on an APG...i would save some more money and get a new mobo that supports PCI-E and a different proc...sorry

thanks..

I am broke, and the computer works great, it is only two years old. Instead of just replacing the card in there with another 30.00 card, you are telling me there is nothing I can buy for it that is a little better? I got a nice card for it, but the card kept over heating so I returned it.

I plan on buying a new computer in a few years, so I want to get by. I just had the mother board replaced and it cost me 200.00. RL.

Hey mate- there's still a good few options with AGP- (What currency you talking btw?)

for AGP off the top of my head:
ATi X1950
ATi 3850
ATi 2600

umm I think there's quite a few from nVidia- did you think of trying a different manufacturer 7600?
I'm pretty sure that there's quite a lot of the 7 series on AGP.

hey...

Question, how come there are so many bad reviews for most video cards. DO people have a lot of poblems with video cards. I know I do not want to spend a lot of money, but I want a card that will be easy to install, and wont give me a lot or, or any problems.

Or do people just complain about everything. I was about to buy the pro but there are some bad, and good reviews on it. RL>

A lot of people that post reviews on those sites don't know what the hell they're talking about. Also, who is more likely to give a review...the person who knows what they're doing, buys a card, and never has a problem. Or the person who has no clue, buys a card, then through error on their part has problems with it?

because people spend $45 on a video card, and it wont play crysis on high, and they get angry. then some people spend $250 on a video card, and it still wont play crysis on high, so they get angry. its just one of those things where people are never satisfied. take all reviews with a grain of salt, and keep in mind that you get what you pay for. an 8500GT is not going to play crysis on high.
