Help: Buying/Looking for new RAM

i have a 256 mb PC3200U and i wanna upgrade to a 512mb ddr i have a P4 2.50GHz 256mb ram. my motherboard is a gigbyte GA-8S650GXM...could you tell me what one to buy or what type to look for?...if you can look on staples.ca or futureshop.ca becuase thats where i'm planning on buying the ddr.

Why buy from those stores? Tigerdirect is much cheaper.

what did you say eariler about downgrading? what one would i have to buy so that it's not downgraded?
