Help choosing a laptop please

Hi all I'm new on here, just joined.
Am in process at looking for a new laptop and have singled out 2 laptops in my price range and have come up with these 2.

What do you people think about them(anyone own them), which one would be best value. These are both refurbished models I have seen with 12 month warranty.

They are Samsung R580:

Anybody with any info would be very grateful or any other suggestions for similar spec models please.

What is your main use of laptop?

Using it for general web surfing, watching dvds via HDMI cable, downloading movies, photos, music.
Just the usual really.

Also not bothered about it having OS pre installed as I can install a copy I have myself

For that use, I don't think you need discrete graphic card.

Hi there, thankyou for the suggestions you sent me. The 1st Toshiba looks OK to me but I can't see if any of them have HDMI or is that pretty much as standard on all new laptops now?
The 2 I listed are actually slightly cheaper than these you listed(although refurbs) anyway so would I be better with one of them do you think.

Sorry what is discrete graphics card anyway? All this is rather new to me.
