Help choosing a new monitor please?

Hey guys,
I just bought the BenQ RL2455HM monitor, already sent it back after 3 days of having it because i noticed it had a strange white spot on the monitor which was brighter than the rest of the colours around it. It puts you off buying the same one again, and i wasn't sure about the picture quality or the colours of that monitor.
Was thinking about the same price range - £110 to £140 please. If needed a little over i wouldn't really mind.
I had the BenQ GL2450HM in mind. - I will be playing primarily FPS games on the monitor, so good colours and fast response time would be great.
Thanks for your help,
Daniel
p.s. the RL2455HM was my first monitor "upgrade" in years. the monitor im using is like 5 years old. maybe i just dont like change.

This is toward the high end of your range, but I use this monitor and I love it!

It has 2x HDMI ports, 1x VGA, a 1 ms refresh rate for gaming, 24" 1080p, and a beautiful design with a matte finish bezel and screen, which if you use an afterglow, or anything that lights up, goes a really long way towards reducing glare.
I was playing Tomb Raider, and at one point there was a scene where the camera was swaying and I was so convinced I actually touched my monitor because I was nervous that the stand was shaky. Haha its awesome!
