Help Cleaning Vista

Hi, I have an HP desktop with Vista on it. It is full of junk so I want to start all over again. keep in mind that it came already with Vista so I do not have a disc. I was told to use Dban which will clean it better than any other way. My main question is, when done with Dban, do I still will have Windows Vista or do I have to install it again because like I said, I have no disc.

I will appreciate any help. Thank you.

Dban will completely wipe the hard drive so you won't have vista at all anymore. You will need a vista install dvd. What are your system specs?

Thank you so much for the fast reply.
Is a HP Quad CPU 2.40GHz 32 bit OS

If it will completely erase Vista, then can I upgrade it to windows 7 or 8?
Also, is there another way I can erase the drive and keep Vista?

If you use anything to wipe the drive you will lose Vista no matter what. There should be a way to use the recovery partition to reinstall windows or most companies give the owner the ability to create recovery cd's themselves to use in case the hard drive goes out. Another option would be to buy windows 7 and install that fresh with no bloatware involved.

Press F8 on startup and choose "Repair Your Computer"
Get to the System Recovery menu
Choose HP System Restore option to restore the factory HP image.

Thanks guys. I finally was able to do the cleaning. I went to my pile of old CDs and did find a couple of recovery discs I made when I first got the computer. The first time I panic because it said there was an error found and all stayed in blue. Then I rebooted again with the first CD and bingo.

Once again, than you guys for your time and help. I am very appreciated.
