Listen, right now I have a 5 year old Dell...FX5200 graphics card, 512 RAM and 40 GB HD and it is not cutting it lol. I was wondering if any one of you more knowledgable people (in computers/technology) could help me out with picking the parts of a new computer. It will be used mainly for CS:Source. My spending limit is $1000 (US) and I know it isn't much but I have heard that one can build a decent computer with this kind of money. Please help!!!

CPU: AMD 3500
GPU: 6800GS
MOBO: ASUS (research which model you want on Newegg.com)
Harddrive: 100GB Maxtor (doesn't really matter which brand as long as the brand is well known)

can someone help him out with the case, PSU, and any other parts that he needs

if i were to...possibly provide a list of a few parts i've been looking at for quite some time now...would you guys be willing to provide feedback and maybe suggest some reasonable alternatives....i say this because i've gotten some suggestions that went something like this....

me: hey guys, what do you know about the geforce 6800gs ($154 on newegg)?

idiots: dude, just go for a geforce 7900 gtx don't be nub.. its only like 500 dollars more and its totally worth it.

thanks guys

Of course we will help you with our best, but I'm not going to be idiots like the other idiots guy, haha. It seem most cases with power supplies is little expenisve for some reason why. Its really hard to find a nice cheap case that you were asking for. The shipping and handling cost is pretty much trouble part. That's why I like to go to www.pricewatch.com and see what the have now. If not, I sometime goes to eBay, computer cases store, or whatever. What else are you looking for? Let us know...
