I am having trouble getting an ATI video card working with the media center program MediaPortal. I have tried to find a solution to my problem in the Mediaportal forums but have gotten no help. Maybe someone here can help me out . . .

In Short:
I recently "upgraded" the [and by 'upgraded' I mean that I recieved a hand me down] video card I have in my computer (from: GeForce FX 5200 To: Radeon 9500 Pro/ 9700) but now I can't seem to get MediaPortal to display on my 2nd (TV) display. I have the second display set up as an extended desktop (not clone view) which worked fine with my Geforce but I get nuthin with the Radeon. I am assuming that the Radeon 9500 should work with Mediaportal but for the life of me I can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some details:
In trying to research this issue I seem to be hearing something about trouble with ATI capture driver (or something like this) but since I barely know what the capture driver is, which I have, or how to download the "correct" one, I don't know where to go.

Thanks in advance for any helpful input/guidance....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...anything.

thanks

Elliott

I recall the old radeons could only show the video overlay on one monitor. So if you select your overlay to be displayed on the primary display, it would just show black on the secondary/TV. Is this the problem?

No, I can get it to display on the secondary display (full screen when I am playing a video) but when I load the mediaportal program (a home theater media program) I only get the normal desktop on the second screen instead og the application.

Thanks for the info though, The Other One
