Help diagnosing XPS L702X

Hey guys, I'd like some conformation before i buy a new motherboard.

I'm working on a Dell XPS L702X. When the power button is pressed the back-light for the keyboard and the Power button light flash once and then nothing at all. No beep code, or anything else. The laptop was on the floor working fine one minute and then nothing.

When i hold the power button down the 2 lights will flash every .75 - 1 second. The battery test button shows full, and the blue ring around the charger is glowing blue. I've tried with battery in / cable out, and battery out / cable in. I've also tried unplugging both and holding the power button for 1+ minute, and then alternating the cable/battery again.

I've taken 3 of the 4 RAM dims out and still the same result.

I'm going to take the CMOS batter out, power cable, batter all out and press the power button for 1 minute after I type this message out, but i'm thinking that is a long shot too.

I'm pretty sure it's the motherboard but I wanted to run it by you before I shell out $175 (after i figure out the motherboard model).

It is the model with the 3D screen, if that makes a deference.

if no one has any ideas, could you help me find the motherboard model (so i don't have to completely disassemble it) before i get the new board in?

thanks a ton!

Update. I removed the wrist wrest and CMOS battery. After replacing the CMOS but before replacing the wrist wrest i tried hitting the power button, but nothing happened. while replacing the wrist wrest the lights on the power button and Disk drive lit up (new for the disk drive) then shut off. i finished replacing the wrist wrest and tried the power button again. This time i heard the fans and HDD turn and all the normal lights lit up. And there was a Beep code of 2, that kept repeating. I'm looking it up now.

It's a bad motherboard. Two beeps indicate a bad memory slot and since you said no stick in any slot worked, you can safely say it's the motherboard.

Ok, so the beep code was because I forgot to put the ram back in. After putting the ram back in it started up just fine. I tested all 4 RAM sticks in all 4 slots. They are fine. After testing them all it did the "I'll only flash my lights on e for you" again. I removed the top cover again and pressed the power button again and it worked. I checked the connection on all wires and ribbon cables and screws that I could reach but I cannot get it to repeat the problem a 3rd time.

Does this still sound like mobo?

So is it working fine now or no? If you can boot it up, run Memtest86+ and see if you get any memory errors.
