Help do i need more mem

hi i have a HP Pavilion dv1000 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.40GHz
and my hard drive is 37.5 Capacity gb and i've 25.37gb so i think i've answered my own question but what do i do to add more memory an how i'm not that good at computers. reason i ask coz my laptop tells once an while that i'm runing low on mem

theres a difference between hard drive space and memory (aka RAM)
could you please post what told you you need more memory and how much memory you have
 
To change virtual memory right click on desktop and click properties. Find the performance section and change the page file. Dont change it by alot though. Srry I dont remember where its at as im running vista and not xp!! You could use some more ram also!!
 
Download cpuID at the website below and run it (it doesnt install you just run) and copy the text or take a pic of the spd and memory tabs!!
 
Oh crap! I forgot it's a laptop!! You might not be able to upgrade it. The ram I mentioned earlier will not work as that is desktop ram.
 
You can upgrade it prob. Heres some decent ram. It's also faster than the ram you have so you should see a big increase in performance. Do you do virus scans on that pc? You might be infected which will cause your pc to be slow. Head over to the security section and post a new thread with the title "need help with hijackthis" and ask how to use and determine if your pc is infected, or something to that effect.
