Help- Editing email attachment

Ok I'm computer-illiterate AND desperate! I started working on a paper at school, attached the word document to an email, opened it at home and started to edit it. I saved the document many times at home. However, now I cannot find it! please help me!

just use the search app in the start menu and type in the file name that you saved it under and tell the app to search all HDD's.

Maybe save stuff onto your desktop ? When you have the option of saving to location. Chose desktop. That helps me alot
