im working on a laptop for a customer and this has me totaly boggled.

she has pictures and they tried to burn but it would not burn since burner dont work. now when opening the picture u get either red x or no preview avaiable.

so i then copied the folder4gb oto mini hard drive and looked at them on my vista maching and still says file format not supported. what did she do and how can i un do them. all are .jpg. i already treid 4 programs and .jpeg rename

What are you trying to open the picture with?

i used the stock picture viewers fomr vista and xp with no results. i then used pictureviewer fomr quicktime. adobe photoshop. and microsoft picture manager that came wiht office 2007

and what..non of them worked..hmmm only thing i could think of is the picture must be corrupted

yes non a single one of 12,000+ didn not work. they did try to burn the fodler but failed. i thin the burn corrupted whole folder

yer, maybe, ummm you may have to somehow backup the pics and reinstall windows to fix your photo viewing software and try and open then, if it still doesnt open then i would say that you photos are corrupted and don't think there is anything you can do about that...sorry

windows has nothing to do with it as i tried to view on 2 xp machines and a vista machine neither owuld open it

Then i stick with corrupted photo's then

What's the file type of the photos? You could always try opening in a more advanced image viewer or even an editor like Photoshop or Gimp.

He said the picture file was a .jpg, and he has already tryed opening it in photoshop.
