Help finding a hardrive

im trying to find a harddrive for my first built and was wondering what good harddrive that cost atleast $100. Im wondering is it ok to have only 1 harddrive for my new built? thanks

This is the mobo i will be purchasing, need help finding a harddrive with it.

This is a little broad. You should first decide how much storage space you need, and work to that. Look for a good SATA II drive with a 16MB cache.

If you're looking for something that's ultra-fast WD Raptors are great, but a little tight on capacity.

And yes, it's fine to have only one hard drive. Two hard drives with RAID 0 are somewhat faster, but more expensive. In most cases you wouldn't notice the difference.
 
One advantage to having multiple hard drives, would be keeping your operating system, seperate from the majority of your personal/program files, or if you were interested in having a multiple operating system setup.

You can also seperate your files through partitioning but, it does not yield the same preformance benefits. The more data on the disk, the slower its going to run. Seperate drives helps combat this problem, by allowing you to keep the operating system on one drive, and the majority of your other files on another.
 
Its ok to have a single drive and many people prefer it (usually to avoid confusing different drives etc) while many others, as mentioned, prefer the flexibility of sorting the data into specific groups :)
