HI*: Need some help :D am going to make a new Gamer computer for the first time xD have been looking at these parts for some time now, but werent sure what to buy, so i thought i would ask you guys ;D am looking for a stable and powerfull gamer computer

Ram: Kingston HyperX 2 x 2 GB ( 4Gb )
Harddrive: Westen digital Caviar Green WD10EACS (1 TB)
Motherboard: ASUS P5K PRO
Grafikcard: XFX GeForce 9800 GX2 (1 GB)
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Processor: Core 2 Duo E8500 6 MB (Intel Boxed) (3.16 GHz)
Powersupply: Corsair TX650W

Would this work out well ?.. Need any changes ? plz reply Thx :)

You will also want to get an aftermarket heatsink and cooler. The heatsink and fans that come with Intel processors aren't very good quality. The ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler is good and only $27 at NewEgg.com:

I would also get a 750 or 500 gigabyte hard drive. The Terabyte hard drives are very costly in price.
 
Unless your doing sound editing or something that involves sound, I doubt you need the sound card. On board sound should be fine unless your really picky.
 
Okay so if i get the GIGABYTE motherboard and the heatsinker for the cpu :P and a cheaper soundcard .. it all should be fine ? ;D
 
I'm sorry am I the only one that thinks that gigbyte board is ugly as hell.

Surely, we can find something better for you.

Did you want to stay at the 140 or less mobo price point..or are you willing to spend more for a board that is good?
 
hmm ;P well as long as we dont get over 15,000 Danish kr. for the computer i wouldn't mind spending a little bit more on the motherboard ;P

Now that I know you have an amazing budget...do not..

I repeat---do not cheap out on motherboard!!

ridiculously awesome build quality.

and...you dont even need to buy a sound card with alot of the higher end ASUS boards cause they include a ROG supremeFX II audio card..and it is very, very good!!


bit more $$, more features, HD audio...

well was thinking about the power supply ;P is it big enough ? 650W

It would not hurt to up your psu to a 750W, that way you can have the option to run dual graphics cards down the road with having to change it out.

Depending on the price of your ram choice, there is better choices..not that Kingston is bad..but the HyperX is about as legit as 'SLI Ready' ram.

The ram, is it pc-8500 ddr2? 1066mhz
