help for a computer novice

Hi All, I am new to computing and I need help. I would like to buy a DVD burner. I have a Dimensions 4600. Is there a separate DVD burner that plugs into a port or do I actually have to buy a drive? Thanks for the help!

A separate DVD burner that plugs into a port as in an external DVD burner? If that's what you mean, then you can get one of these

They are, however, alot more expensive than a internal DVD burner.
