help, games dont work normally

hi ´, i have a problem with newer games like unreal tournament 2004, Max payne 2, Diablo II with Direct3D. but when i play it with Directdraw or when i play worms world party everything is OK.

my system specs: celeron 2.4 GhZ, 256 MB RAM, Nvidia FX 5200 128 mb, 70 Gb hard drive, windows XP service pack 2. i Posted a screenshot from my Max Payne 2 load screen

im no expert on this, but it looks like something to do with your graphics card

Are your graphics card drivers updated? If so, try cleaning out the inside of your case. Get all of the dust out of there, could be your card is overheating.

hm, do you think its safe if i use a vacumecleaner to do that?

I use a shop vac cheaper than buying compressed air

ok and the final question: are there some certain places that i shouldn't touch with my vac and what i shold vacume more than others?

spend the most time cleaning heatsinks (actually this is pretty much all I do, my case doesn't get so dusty that I need to suck dust off everything)

If that doesn't do the trick for ya' (and it'd be a good idea anyway), try downloading the latest DirectX drivers. If DirectDraw is working for you, but not D3D, this may be the culprit. A long time back I had a Riva 128, TNT2 m64 card that was going insane trying to play Diablo 2 with D3D, and an upgrade in DirectX solved it.
