Help getting 32 bit os to use 4gb ram

Hello all, Im brand spanking new here, and I was hoping I could get some help....

My comp has 4gb RAM installed, yet in task mgr only 3581 MB are utilized. In BIOS it says 4095 MB are usable- I have done a BCEDIT of the boot record and still no change. Any ideas?

A 32 bit OS will never see 4gb of useable memory listed in system properties. And if you really need the extra 500mb of memory, then you really need to upgrade to a system that can take up to 8 or 16 gb of memory with a 64 bit OS.

The idea that the 32 bit system "cannot or does not" use 4gig is not all true. It is simply one more example of MicroSofts lack of developement. If you run a Linux powered Windoze Clone such as the very popular Ubuntu or the less popular but no less advanced and more Windoze-like SimplyMepis or Mint there is a package to allow the 32 bit systems to use up to 4 gig.
