hey guys, i just put in a new hard drive after the old one went out. anyways, when windows was loaded up and i was putting programs i needed back on, and put itunes on, it came up with an audio problem. well i hadnt installed audio drivers yet, strange to me, because i thought onboard audio detected itself. well i cant get the onboard audio to work at all so i tried putting in a sound card from work here in and installed the drivers for it, its a crystal soundfusion card, nothing fancy, just basic card. anyways, i quit getting the error popup, and it looks like itunes and other programs are playing, but im not getting any output at all. speakers are plugged in correctly, and have tried different equipment and such, so its not that.

what i mainly need to know is how do i get rid of everything except the crystal soundfusion stuff in the device manager. i went to disable, but its greyed out to where i cant change it. any ideas?

also forgot to mention when i tried installing the realtek ac97 driver, the computer would shut down and reboot everytime. i figured there was a problem when it was doing that.

well after looking at all of the other computers on the network, we all have Realtek AC'97 drivers, but when I go to put them on the computer we are having trouble with, in the middle of running setup for it, it just restarts the computer, what is causing this??

Probably not the exact drivers you need, What make/model is your motherboard?

Also this sound card you have, did you config the sound card in the Sounds and Audio devices as default?

Ok post your motherboard make and model here and I`ll see if I can find you some up to date drivers.
