Help! - Graphics purchase

Ok well in the UK the GTX260 and 280 just dropped by £50 - £100.

GTX280 is now about £324 and GTX260 is £216

My offer for 9800GX2 is £260

Are they worth it now? Take in mind I would be replacing the 9800GX2 in September ish time but selling it now. So price might drop more? The idea of GTX280 or GTX 260 in sli sounds sweet, even tri sli.

The 4870 or x2 will perform as good but I have an Nforce motherboard so no tri or quad crossfire.

You can always go that route, but I would only do so if you are getting poor framerates right now.

Deathrow, I'd say (again! ) that you keep the card, it's top notch currently and unless you're getting low FPS, avoid the hassle of getting rid of this card and getting another one. You won't see a big difference either way, by changing to a GTX280 for example, neither a HD4870.

Got it cheap for £100 and sold my Corsair Hx620 for £50 so only cost me £50 in a sense.

Not always, it depends on the game. Based on the reviews I saw, the GTX 280 was better most of time
