help hl2 cant go down elevator

I am at black mesa east, the scene where i follow the woman down the elevator. The eleveator comes, she stops talking, i enter and nothing happens, she just waits there. Am i supposed to do something, or is the game messed up. Thanks for the help

press E if there's a button switch? haven't played HL2 but i know that part. load it up again if ever it doesn't work.
