help...how to paint???

Hey i'm planning to get the thermaltake Soprano black w/ window. i personally think it would look so much sikr w/ the inside painted black. howeve i have some questions.
How do you paint the case? will regular spray paint do? or do i need something special?
is black a good color? it abrorbs heat. is that good forthe case?

o btw...i will add watercooling soon, once i pony up that cash.
 
You can use any spray paint... I would look for something with a high heat rating just because of its durability. Make sure you spray a good coat of primer before the paint or else it will just flake off.

Black absorbs heat from the sun more than other colors because black absorbs all colors of light and thus has more heat from all those colors. The heat inside your case will be purely thermal energy, not heat from light energy. You will not have to worry about colored paint inside a case becoming hotter than another color of paint. Black will look cool.
 
alright thanx alot konakid and jlv2k5 i'll do that, but do you guys ahve any specific spray paint brands i should put my on???
 
Go to any hardware or auto parts store... I would say krylon, they have a wide choice of paints from flat, satin, high gloss, you can even buy the chameleon paint that changes color at different angles. I've used krylon on a lot of different things from paintball guns to auto parts. High quality. If you need help come spray time give me a shout.
 
i couldnt find krylon...or te be honest never even heard of it, i tried on goodgle maps, and nothing showed up. i liv in SoCal, i'm gonna try either home depot, or pep boys...is that cool?
 
You can go to those places, and get what you want. Its hard to believe you couldnt find krylon, they sell it everywhere, even Walmart!!!

Not that it will make a difference in your choice – black will be fine – but your statement isn’t quite correct. Yes, black will absorb most energy in the visible spectrum, but in general (for non-selective surfaces) it will also absorb roughly equally in other wavelengths. Since "thermal energy", like visible light, is just electromagnetic radiation, that means black surfaces will still absorb this energy.
