Help , I cant get the DVI out on my computer to output an image

i have a home theater projector and IM wanting to hook up my dvi to m1 cable from my pc to the projector


I have the dvi port on the back of my computer, right beside the vga output ,

I cant get it to work , when i plug up the projector I get nothing

is a driver missing ?


I cant find where to go in and make it like dual display or whatever like I have to do under controld panel when I hook up my laptop to the projector via vga



please help ,

i spent money for this calbe I want to know what my dvi port isnt working
 
If your graphics card have a VGA port and a DVI port then chances are your VGA port is the primary port. I think you should go into the driver and check if you have enabled dual monitor, because on some cards the second port is disabled until you enable it.

If it still doesn't work, you should try hooking up a monitor to your second port to see if that works.

Hmm... I have an 7300LE down in my computer and you can use whatever port your choose, you just have to plug it in at startup... same with my dual view FX5200. I'd think that your port is down...
