Help - I can't turn my PC clock back!

Hello there,

I have a really strange error on my pc.
I can't turn my clock back anymore.
As soon as I try to turn my clock back, it just jumps back to the date it was on before I changed it.
E.G. I'm now living in August 2006, when I try to turn the clock back, I see for about one second '23 Juli 2005', and then it just jumps to '23 August 2006'...

I really don't know what to do anymore (I already tried to run 3 registry scans, also I tried the last correct configuration)

Is this some sort of virus/spyware or is it a dll error....

Any help would be appreciated!

I tried to google this before, but that came out negative....

Anybody else had this problem too???

I thank you in advance for your help...

im assuming this is the clock in the bottom right corner of the screen. double click it, and it will bring up the properties of it. now click on the 3rd tab "internet time" now click "update now". if this doesnt work, post back

Already tried that....

I also downloaded an Atomic Sync. program, that didn't work too....

It simply puts back the time no matter what I do...

Anybody knows what to do???

Thnx in advance

OK, tried it, still no success. It simply won't turn my clock back when I want too...

Like you suggested I de-installed all programs that had to do with the clock-thing and also all synchronizers... Still no success :(

Also I tried to change it in the BIOS, but because I have a very strange BIOS (a Compaq BIOS) I'm not able to change it there...

Finally, I tried to open a MS-DOS screen, typed 'time', changed it, but again no success... I just changed back again... :(

I'm really getting tired of this....

Someone out there knows what to do

Thnx in advance

i'dd say, try to set the clock in the bios right, thats the only thing you can do. ;)

just keep looking there :) because i think its locked,. so my guess is, you have to put an option manually set clock or something like that first.
(it would be very,. very strange if you couldnt set your clock there)

and, if that doesnt help, try resetting your bios with the CMOS jumper. and then try again to change the clock in the bios :)

Ok I fixed the problem...

I searched on the internet (with another computer) where I can change the time in Compag-BIOS. Couldn't find it anywhere... So that's not a solution...

Since I don't want to mess with the hardware (I assume that's what a CMOS jumper is) I didn't saw that as an option...

Now, I had 4 partitions on my hard-drive. One of them had XP which covered the drives C,E,H and I. This was the 'messed up clock' system.
Now I have to thank Windows 98 for 'saving' my computer. What I did was the following:
I installed Windows 98 on hard-drive D:\
By starting up Windows 98 after I installed it, I was able to turn the clock back...
Now it is running normal again, also under Windows XP :D

Sometimes a simple solution is the most difficult to find out. :o

But thnx to all that have helped me, I still appreciate it...

I hope that someone else in the future with the same problem can fix this now, by reading this.
You can only hope you have more partitions than one (at least two)

I know, it is a very strange solution, but WHO CARES - IT WORKS :D

Greets,

RudeF (very happy again :D )
