Help... I need a new labtop!!

Hello everyone! Well I'm in search for a new laptop. I will be going into my first year of college soon and need a laptop that can multi task.

My budget is $500.

Here are a few of the credentials I'm looking for:

- Intel Centrino Duo or an AMD Turion
- at least 1GB RAM
- a hard drive of 160GB
- 120GB HDD with an external to back up all your stuff

But I need some help on an operating system to run. I basically use my computer for photo shopping and saving photos, music storage, surfing the web. But as a future college student should I run vista or windows XP 07 ? But also graphics are one of my main concerns since I am a gamer and heard vista has dx10 for gaming and has a coat of paint on it which makes it look better.

I assume u live in America .. so that 500 USD? .. thats really not much for what your asking for .. I had a look on new egg for you

pertty much wat your asking for without the external hdd .. $600 will surely buy u what you want .. .

-the computers 1.74ghz T2080 .. still part of the core architecture .. so .. its fine
-1gb of ram
with 160gb of hdd space
