Help Identify 3.5mm cable

I was looking through my computer storage boxes and found two odd cables. Looks like 3.5mm speaker purple plug on a 36" cable with two odd looking tapered ends with what looks like a LED bulb builtin.

I don't remember where they came from and don't know what they do. It's not earbuds, or tiny speakers.

Ideas?

Never seen anything like it before.

i had one and went to the front of a cable box or slingbox.
Not there now but suspect it was upgraded to something newer.
think it was for a remote for me.
