Im trying to put together another computer, I run Intel but am going to build a machine with a AMD Phenom, the only problem is I dont know which model it is. Iv'e searched everywhere but nothing.

Here's everything from the CPU, oh I forgot to mention some of the numbers/letters are extremely hard to read from scraping off compound.

As follows:

AMD Phenom
H0985ZXAJ4BGH
JAAAB AA 0831APBW
9762955H80282

Someone please tell me what this means, not a link but an explanation.

Thanks in advance.

The Phenom 9850 is still good to use for browsing the Internet, word processing and old video games. It would run my GT Racing 2 video game well when setup with the right hardware.

I would get a Socket AM2+/AM3 motherboard for the Phenom 9850. You could upgrade later to a better processor if you wanted to.

^agreed. The 9850 is still one heck of a CPU. No quad-core is a bad CPU in my opinion. :)

The 9850 is still good for heaps. Saying it's good for browsing, word processing and older games is a gigantic understatement. I mean sure it's good at those things, but even though it's a fair bit slower than current top contenders it will handle most recent games just fine assuming you have a decent video card to go with it. Heck even for "proper heavy usage" like rendering or whatever stuff people would buy i7s for it's still a legit chip if you aren't a performance fanatic and your money doesn't depend on it.

The only thing bad about it is it's rather hot.
