Hey guys, my boss is selling a Dell XPS laptop and I am interested in buying it because he said he would sell it for 1100. I found out most of the stuff about it but unfortunatly not the model or the cpu. (Stupid of me I know). What I know is:

100gb 7200 rpm HDD
2 gb ram
7900gtx graphics
Windows xp
17 inch screen

From what I know I think it must be an m1710 but I can't be sure. The graphics card makes me think its a newer model, and the way he talked it sounded like a newer model. If it IS the m1710 and it's newer it must have a Core 2 Duo right? Can someone help me figure out what kind of computer this is?

have u tried e-mailing ur boss? cuz when ur buying a computer for $1100, the seller should be willing to contact u. 1100 is no small amount of money so be sure of what ur getting before u blindly make a purchase

like i said, email ur boss from home if u can right now. if not, email urself at work to remind urself to ask him, unless ur not provided a private computer by ur company. call him up if u have to, i'm sure he would be glad to talk about it.

other than these few suggestions on contacting ur boss, i can't really help much more. i have to go to sleep and i dont really have much time now to help.

If all the information you listed is correct, then it is most likely the XPS m1710. If you can I would either ask him to, or better yet check the laptop out yourself and either "dxdiag" or simply use system properties to make sure.

The price he's asking is a bargain if it's the real deal. :D

If you want to know what CPU it has, just get on the computer and go into the system properties page, the fastest way is to press the windows logo key and "pause and break" at the same time, it will give you information such as what model CPU you have, what version OS and how much RAM is installed.

Way too expensive for what you're getting, 900$ still would be decent but no above 1k

For a laptop? A 7900gtx is one of the most powerful laptop GPU's i've ever seen.

Plus two gigs and a C2d CPU? Dell would charge $3000 for a laptop like this new, $1100 is a pretty good deal.

I don't see where it says it's a C2D, what compfused said was that it probably but not that it really had it
