Hi ,

I'm planning to get a laptop , I went and checked out a whole bunch of them but i'm not sure which brand and model to get. ( I plan on taking up a computing course too ) ... Can anyone here recommend a few for me? My budget is around $1000 or less which is about 3000++ here in my country.

Where exactly are you from?
We need to know incase some sites don't ship to where you are.
Are you fine with buying online?

If your buying local we can give you a few options, they may or may not have them though.

I'm from Malaysia and no i dont plan to buy online ....
I was thinking of these few brands which i heard from ppl are pretty good - toshiba and hp .... How is Asus?

I have heard that asus are really good quality. I like MSI, I have had a few and they are gr8 quality and customer support.
I'll find a few links to some models that u can look into.
What will you be using the laptop for?

i know people bash dell, but as far as i'm concerned they have the best computer for the best price. i'm not a big fan of laptops anyways, but i do own a dell because of school. If you want to go away from dell, hp is decent and acer is good. whatever you do, dont buy a gateway. you will have nothing but problems, as with any gateway product
