Help in deciding over card(s)

I was looking at some new vid cards and I was wondering. If, say, I bought two x1900's for Crossfire, is this worth it? Or should I get one card of equal value? Which is more effective? The appealing thing with the x1900s is that I can get two for $260, but I don't know if that money could be better spend on say, one x1950.

Given that you have a crossfire capable motherboard, I would still go with a single card.

Most of the older games dont support SLI or Crossfire, and some of the current ones dont show a huge performance increase (maybe like 1/4-1/3 the framerates). You would be much better off buying, say an 8800GTS for $399.

What type of x1900 is it? If it's the XT/X i'd say go for it! But if it's just the PRO, I would go with the x1950XT/X.

NVIDIA® SLI™ technology can be enabled for every gaming application. In addition, to provide the optimal 'out-of-box' experience, NVIDIA has created an extensive set of over 400 custom application profiles which enable SLI technology automatically and optimize scaling performance. These optimized applications, shown below, are enabled automatically with no control panel changes required.
