Help! In need of suggestions for a new video card.

I want to hook up my PC to my 50" HD Sony Wega, but first, I need a decent video card. I'll probably never be much of a pc gamer, but I want to be able to do basic pc tasks as well as watch movies through the computer. My price range varies, but I'd prefer to stick around $200. Does anyone have a good suggestion for video cards/where to buy?
 
If you want quality video on a 50' screen you will probably need to spend more. Why buy a cheap card to view something on such a huge screen? Obviously you can afford it...

right?
 
well, that's the thing, if it's going to put out the same resolution, how much of a difference would there be? I don't want to pay $300+ when all I need is something that is $100+. The TV is maxed at 720p/1080i btw.

the size of the screen shouldn't matter to the video card.
