M mbrothwell New Member Feb 6, 2008 #1 I just started building my new system tonight, and the HDD cable that came with my motherboard doesnt fit into my hard disk drive. The hard drive says its SATA. Does this mean I should just leave the HDD cable out?

porterjw Spaminator Staff member Feb 7, 2008 #2 What you probably have is an IDE cable; what you need is a SATA cable. Did your SATA drive come with and cables?
