Help is one of my hard drives dying.

Ok basicaly the problem when I boot up my computer I get a nasty grinding sound. I was told that when this happened it was the 2 plates/disks in the hard drive rubbing and I should shut my computer down and try again. This works and they often stop the grnding for a while, but also this person said it was a sign of my hard drive dying if that were ever to happen to me. Is this the case, and if so how can I tell which one is going?

1. how many hdd?
2. i would start backing up NOW.... grinding is never a good sign

if it is a harddisk.. dont throw it away. contact the manufacturer. they usually have a very long Warranty

I got 2 hdd

Plus I think they are going to be quite alot to replace seeming there both 250gb.

well... i dont think ithat actually 2 HD's are breaking down at the same time. unless, you case has fallen down sometime. in that case, both HD's would be damaged

No I gotta replace 1 most likely but which one will it be, how do I know as it not totaly broken yet. Nope my computer has not had even the slightest nudge or bang just started to die .
