This one should work for you.

I would agree with flanker, he picked out a good laptop, I looked around Future Shop's website for a while and couldn't find anything better, even some of the more expensive laptops weren't all that much better than that one.

It should be able to play it with medium settings and no lag, although I'm not quite sure, the GPU seems powerful enough I think. I searched google for the minimum specs for COD black ops and this laptop exceeds all the minimum specs. As for AMD getting really hot I haven't heard of that so I can't confirm it.

I don't think Future Shop is selling any Dell XPS laptops at the moment although some models of XPS are really good gaming laptops. I think the HP Pavilion we mentioned is the best laptop you'll find for around $800 at future shop (this same laptop costs $50 more at best buy). If you wan't a good gaming laptop you will probably have to spend around $1000, and you probably won't find a really good gaming laptop under $700. The important thing in a gaming laptop is a good processor and a dedicated graphics card - and the laptop that flanker suggested may not be the best, but it does have a good processor, a decent dedicated graphics card, and 6GB DDR3 memory - I think it will be just fine for you.

yeah I know it looks great but I was wondering if the cps is any betterI see some at the dell website for around 800 900 bucks to might get those if there better !

In my opinion Dell builds better quality computers, they are a little more expensive then hp on average but you pay for what you get.

On the note of the cpu, yes AMD usually runs a little hotter then Intel but it will be fine, understand with any laptop when you talk about gaming they are going to run hot anyway cause everything is build to operate in that little space. So I would recommend you pick up a cooling pad with the fans built into it that runs via usb. That is what I have on my dell and it keeps it really cool even when I am running heavy task like my digital music station Ardour GTK2.

If you don't care about buying it from FutureShop anymore, then take a look at these:

2) http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6819008&CatId=2510

From the reviews and looking at the specs, both laptops can run Black Ops even on high settings, and would definitely run them with no lag on medium. Both laptops are similar, but I think the ASUS K52JT-XT1 (cheaper from the other one by $50) is better (the other ASUS looks better though).

The laptop you are talking about (like this one) is pretty nice, but it's a little more expensive than the ones mentioned above and isn't even that much better. The XPS I linked is pretty much the same as the ones above.

(I still think the HP is perfect for school and would run BlackOps on medium - you could use your gift card on it too, but up to you)
