Yea that computer is sick. But for what your using the comp for, you could spend 1500 and be ok. Then take the extra money and save it.

i agree with bob, and you may want the DDR2 RAM of AM2 as well. and if u buy this am2 will come out soon after.

Good point, with that high of a budget. I would wait for the future processors being realesed.

What makes you think you need an upgrade? Granted the dual core chips would perform better but your tasks is hardly what id call heavier multitasking.

Upgrade the video to something abit more modern and you'll be set. Then later this year you'll have better options for a new machine.

nice.... i would get this harddrive instead though...

So you just want to listen to music, browse the web, chat online, and play WoW? An $800 computer could do that superbly. As previously suggested I would just upgrade your video card. Then that Dell should be able to do all of what you need.

A $4400 computer needs a REAL workload to even be suggested.

Well said, I couldnt agree more.

the raptor X is nice....but IMO it is a little overrated. i mean just because it is fast it shouldn't cost that much

I find raptors to be kinda dumb. I owned one myself and didnt find it that great. I would rather have two 250GB SATAII in RAID 0.

Thats a waste of money, I mean it might be good to buy a comp for about 2500$ and it will last like a few years but the technology is changing all the time these days and every day theres a new techonlogy and Then you computer will be just a piece of trash.
Thats my advice...
