Alright guys so THis is what i have so far for my computer.
Which is almost nothing but its a start

So I got a hold of of
GPU: two GTX 680's Finally >,>
OEM: Windows 7 professional
Monitor- ASUS VG Series VG278H

Now i need a powerful cpu to keep up with these beastly GPU's

also what motherboard should i get that might be 'future proof' socket wise?

What i need-
CPU
MOBO
RAM probably 16GB
SSD
HDD
Power Supply
Case
And maybe a really good cooler? maybe even WC for OC. XD

I still don't know if i will OC
Any help would be great >,<

btw do i need a sli connecter?

Okay, I would say go with a 2500k with 2 680s, but that is going to bottleneck probably. The 3570k is coming out tomorrow, so that will be great for you and will use the gen3 PCIe that the cards call for (not a huge help, but some).

Motherboard, going from the above, get a Z77 chipset LGA1155 board. I would go with an ASrock or Gigabyte. The Extreme 4 is a very good board in this area. It will come with an SLI bridge.

RAM, for gaming you only need 8GB. 16GB will max the board (4x4) and will push you up to the pro windows (18 total gigs of RAM) and not really be of any use.

If you OC the i5-2500k to around 4.4-4.5 GHz, it will not bottleneck.

I would get 16 gb.I mean, why not for a beast build, dont worry from upgrading from 8 gb, and on 8 gb, 2 680s are half that. And, for maxing out games for the next few years, your going to need 16 gigs, i go thru 2 and a half with lower end games, also, corsair, gskill are nice,I use kingston and it works, no prob, get 2 8 gb sticks. Also, cpu wise, this time I think I would reccomend an i7 ivy brige 6 core, that would be awesome and not a bottleneck at all.Psu, corsair 850 may not be enogh, sli in 680s require 750 watt psu, that is nvidias reccomemdation, im not sure if that includes cpu.Case, pick one out you like and show it, i always say cases are a personal preference, i like the nzxt phantom.HDD, some bios dont support 3 tb and above, so if you dont want the mobo i show you, make sure the mobo supports it.m.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148844 Huge 3 tb hdd.SSD, how big?For just windows and updates, probobly 32 gb,64 FOR win 7, updates and a few games, and 120 for lots a games and windows 7, 256 gb for windows 7, and tons of games and updates, just choose the size and ill show a reccomendation.m.newegg.com/Product/ProductSpecification.aspx?Item=N82E16820148443 250 gb fast ssd.Mobo, lga1155 for for lower end i7, i72600,i72700 quad core only, i5,i3, lga2011 for hi end i7 6 core, which is great for that gpu sli. m.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131821 Im pretty sure this would be reddicously awesome, it sure looks cool.2 pcie3 connectors for sli,and 3 tb boot drive. It is lga1155, no 6 core m.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131801 here is lga 2011, another awesome motherboard with 3 tb boot drive and 2 pcie3 for sli and up to 64 gb ram with 8 ram slots!!!!Cpu, wait for ivy and get ivy i7 lga2011 6 core, or unreccomended, i5 and overclock the cheese out of it
