HELP ME!!! Can't Get Rid of FRUSTRATING VIRUS...

Hey guys, I am a new member into the Forums. My name is Tahsin Hossain and I am from Sydney, Australia. How r u all?

I'd just like to point out that in the last couple of weeks, my PC was infected with some type of malicious adware without my personal consent. I'd like to call this a VIRUS because I tried using all means of Spyware programs (including Spyware Doctor and Ad-aware) and anti-virus programs (Mcafee) and I STILL can't get rid of the damned thing. The program itself allows multiple pop-ups to appear everytime I try to browse through the net with Internet Explorer. I can give you the sites the pop-ups come from:

Download the trial version of Spy Sweeper from Here

Install it using the Standard Install option. (You will be asked for your e-mail address, it is safe to give it. If you receive alerts from your firewall, allow all activities for Spy Sweeper)

You will be prompted to check for updated definitions, please do so.
(This may take several minutes)

Click on Options > Sweep Options and check Sweep all Folders on Selected drives. Check Local Disc C. Under What to Sweep, check every box.

Click on Sweep and allow it to fully scan your system.

When the sweep has finished, click Remove. Click Select All and then Next

Exit Spy Sweeper.

Restart your computer, then post a new Hijackthis log and say how things are now.

Yeap there is! all depends what are you using ?

Your ISP is: Cable, dsl or Fiber ? What dw and up ?

Well you can check your speed and run a test HERE this is the best one and see what is your current speed. After you know at what your running.

Then you can tweak your connection using their tools , you must specified exactly what your ISP is giving you. Just remember what ISP always say "they don't guarantee the speed" they always have this tipical phase of "UP TO xxmb", which means that is UP TO what ever you can get.

Finally you can download DRTCP/IP to change your setting. ;)

Also if you want to go the easy route. Then download yourself a tweak app. I use this one for several features on it

Hey thanks both of you. I am currently tweaking my internet speed with that tool :D. I think I've finally gotten rid of the damned virus, taking Buzz's advice. If I have further problems, I'll give you guys a copy of a Hijackthis report and hopefully, you could pinpoint the real problem if it reoccurs. Btw, I couldn't help saying that you got a really good forum set up - everybody is cooperative and answers are received within the hour. Keep up the good work!

Another special thanks to Buzz for helping me getting rid of the pest; you seriously wouldn't know how it was eating me away bit by bit...

Spybot search and destroy should detect each of those above mentioned malware/spyware.

download, update, restart in safe mode, and scan scan scan!

also have you ran Browser hijack blaster.?
If not then download and run it and post the log file here and we'll take a looksie at it.

Hey btw, how exaclty do u restart in SAFE MODE? I tried rebooting the system and pressing F8 - apparently it only has the option to open 'Windows XP Professional'. Do u guyz get it?
