Dont count on the 6800LE being softmodded to 16 pipeswhich can be sofmodded to a 6800 gt and even an ultra
I know of some reasons for such a suggestion ... but what reasons do you have in mind?A lot of you are saying 6600gt's. I would say choose a 6800
1. The 5800 came in 256MB models?For Nvidia its the 5700, 5800, 5900, 6200, 6600, and 6800
Uh... they do.a 256 mb card in the 9600 (if they made one).
There is more to a video card than just memory buffer size.So for instance a 128 mb card in the 6600 would beat a 256 mb card in the 5900. Or a 128 mb card in the 9800 would beat a 256 mb card in the 9600 (if they made one).

I would hope soi know it sometimes cant happen but it should work a lot and its better than a 6600gt
Ill give you that once in a blue moon one person out of a million can get the full 16 pipes (more likely they'll get just 12) .... regardless a heavily OCd 6600GT will outpace a 6800LE almost anyday (hell, even straight out of the box its a serious contender)i know it sometimes cant happen but it should work a lot and its better than a 6600gt
It doesnt have to beat it, http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=2278&p=13 -- for the price difference its easily arguable that its a better choice. Also, find a benchmark where a 6600gt beats a regular 6800.
