- Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T2330
- 2 GB memory
- 160 GB hd
- 1.6 GHz
- can get for $599.99

HP Pavilion 6645

- AMD Turion Processor TL-58

- 1.9 GHz
- can get for $659.00

Are you limited to choose one of the two you posted?

If not, then I would choose one of these three:

1

2

3

All three of them have a 250GB hard drive. The second one is a 17 inch which is nice since you will mostly be leaving it on a desk. One thing is the first and third are 14.1 inches however have almost the same specs as the 17 inch one.

Hope this helps

hi, I'm not limited to these, however these were 2 of the most attractive deals that I saw while looking around at what is on sale this week. I do like the HP notebooks in terms of aesthetics, but am open to other suggestions. Thanks.

Edited to add: thanks for your suggestions, soccerdude. It's just that I was hoping to keep my purchase as much under $800 as I could, sales tax included. I don't think I need a 250 GB hd since I don't like to store too much on the comp, and I think I'd rather a 15.4 inch screen over the 14.1 in. In terms of the original 2 that I asked about, is one processor better than the other?

thanks again.

thanks, I did take a look at the links... don't want to go with a 14 inch screen. THe 17 inch one looks good, but could you tell me what makes it a better computer than the 2 I listed (save for the bigger screen and HD size). Thanks.

Ambushed, could you please let me know why you would go for the 6701 over the 6645? Thanks.

First I'd like to point out those are both widescreen and in your questionnaire you said you prefer standard. Just want to make sure you're aware of that. You will however find more good solid systems for a low cost in the 15.4 widescreen.

I recommend the 6645 AMD out of the two because of the processor, it won't be much of a difference but it's worth the extra money.

Choosing a computer/Laptop

While choosing a laptop you need to see your budget, then your requirements. What sped and space do you want then you can make a decision easily.

Well the processor found in the 17 inch one is better then the two H.P.s you have posted as it is a 2.0 GHz processor as opposed to a 1.6 GHz and 1.9 GHz processor. Also in the two laptops you posted, it does not say if it has a D.V.D. burner however you said you would like to be able to burn C.Ds and D.V.Ds so I guess they both have it. However the 17 inch version has a technology called "Light Scribe" which allows you to automatically detail your disk you have burnt while in the burner(No need for those stickers you put on C.D.s or D.V.D.s as it will automatically print it on for you) By the way it will burn both C.D.s and D.V.D.s. Another thing is it has a 5 in 1 memory card reader which allows you to transfer whatever you have on those memory cards directly to your computer without the use of a USB cable. An example can be a digital camera. If you have for example an SD memory card in your digital camera, you can take it out of the camera and put it in the memory card reader and automatically transfer your pictures without the use of a USB cable.

Hope this helps
