Help Me Choose!!

I'm not sure what is better here....I want a solid card (that has 3.0 shader,Direct X and all the necessary specs, ya know, up to date) that will get me through for a while with sharp gameplay.

256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS
or
512MB ATI Radeon X1600 PRO PCI Express

Here's my OS:
Processor : Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6300 (2MB L2 Cache,1.86GHz,1066 FSB)
Hard Drive : 250GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
MEM : 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 2 DIMMs

7900GS is much better...
 
What was what!?
I would love to hear anyones thoughts on what is the better card - the ATI or Nvidia listed above.

The 7900GS will complement your computer very well. By any chance do you know what type of power supply you have?

I think any one who chooses X1600pro over 7900GS is stuped

Even the 7600GS was better than X1600pro in all tests

And if you think that 1600pro runs like butter, please tell at what setting can you play new games ?? can you play Prey on 1280x1024, 4xAA, 8XAF and everything maxed
