Okay, I am running out of space on my hard drive right now, and I need to clean out some space but I don't know what to uninstall to make a difference without getting rid of important programs. Okay, here is what I got:

Not much.

Java(TM) 6 Update 22
all microsoft netframework software
QuickSet
µTorrent

Some programs may requires the net framework to run correctly. If you delete it and find something that requires it, just reinstall the version it needs.

What OS are you running? XP? Have you reduced the size that system restore takes up or even shut it off? What size drive is this?

its a 120 GB drive I think.

XP is the OS, and I have no idea how to reduce or turn it off. I would just as well turn it off cause I usually just reinstall when I have a major issue.

I am not sure, but I think the quickset driver is used. I know it is what shows the little window when I use the media buttons on here.

If I delete uTorrent, will the download of CAElinux and Crunchbang still be on my hard drive should I need them again? And just to say, it is a lot faster download on the p2p for me than direct from their servers.

And is there anyway to tell which .net frameworks I need before I mess with them?

To reduce the size of system restore...

Right click on computer, click on properties, click on system restore tab, then use the slider bar to reduce the space taken up by system restore or you can check the box to turn system restore off all together.

Your downloads will still be there. As far as what net frameworks you need, I have no idea. As far as I know, There are only a few programs that actually need it and one is CCC but since you have nvidia, not sure if they require it or not.

I think once you shut off system restore, you'll be fine for awhile.

okay. I am deleting the ones you said minus quickset currently. It only freed up about 2 GB by disabling system restore. I am going to run CCleaner again and see what else I can get rid of.
