AMD Athlon XP 2200+, MMX, 3D Now, ~1.3 GHz

I have a 40gb hard drive with 512 RAM and a 64mb SiS video card. and a 17inch monitor.

processor: AMD Athlon XP 2200+, MMX, 3D Now, ~1.3 GHz

It was bought 3-4 years ago. I can get a desktop much better than this for just $500. This was bought for $800

The problem is I cant convince my parents to get a new one. They say "it does what it needs to do" and at a decent speed. I dont know what else to say that could change their minds.

Can anybody help?

Why did you make another post for this? Your not going to get any extra replies by double posting, besides, this is a really dumb thread anyway. How are we supposed to convince your parents to spend $500 so you can play the Sims 2? Seriously?

I posted it again in this part of the forum, its a different part of the forum.

and trizzoy, its not just for me, it would be for the whole family

First off, it really depends on what you want to use the new computer for anyway. If it's for games, you have to convince your parents that way.

This computer is fine for general use, cept if you wan't to play games or it's just plain slow.

If it's generally slow, upgrade the CPU or chuck in some RAM. Otherwise leave it as it is.

Tell them you want to play games... and beat a XBox 360/PS3 and you need $2,000 to get on CF and make your family a nice custom pc with flashy blue lights :D
