Help Me decide

Since I am at my parents place this summer for the next 10 days and they always buy me something whenever I visit them.


So I was thinking what should I buy this time.
my options are.

1.Upgrade my GPU.A new GPU(ATI HD 5850 or ATI HD 5870 {no debates on this please})
I currently have an XFX Nvidia GTX 275. 650W PSU Thermaltake tought power.
will be selling the GTX 275

2.A new monitor like the Dell Ultra sharp U2311 e-IPS panel FullHD or a Ultra Sharp 2209W
I currently have a Philips CW19 19' TN-CCFL Panel. 1440x900.

3.Various accesories like a sound card or/and a new mouse or/and new headphones.



What do you say what should I go for.
 
I am torn betweenthe video card and themonitor.

Your GPU will still be able to play any game going for a little while to come, so I would say the monitor, is better investment

Maybe I should ask a mod to make it a poll.
I know my GPU can handle games for quite some time but if I buy the HD 5850 I can CF it in my PSU 650W but I wont be able to sli in the future in my PSU.

But there wont be no use of a good GPU if I cant see its results on a proper monitor

You can always get the GPU at a later time ;) The monitor will give you better picture quality over a new video card, so that would seem the logical way to do things
 
Ok guys then Monitor it is.
Will try and talk my parents into it.

What about the choicoe of monitor do you think it ok
 
i say you sell you gtx 275 and get a 5850 if you plan on playing some of the upcoming direct x 11 games

DX11 isn't all that different. Same as DX9 to DX10 wasn't massively noticable, same goes for DX11, and DX11 games will still support DX10 and probably DX9.0c for ages to come yet. I still stick by a monitor would be better even with DX11 in mind
