Help Me!! Dual Screen Problems :(

New Member
I have bought a mini 7" touchscreen to run my laptop off in the car... now.. When i connect it to my laptop The new screen shows another empty desktop with nothing on it.. an extension of the desktop on my laptop.. how can I change this so I can view the normal desktop on both screens...?
 
display properties->settings->click 2nd monitor picture and uncheck 'Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor.'
 
just my second monitor doesnt display anything...

If it helps its a hp pavillion laptop with a geforce 440 graphics card
 
have you tried the key press combination to activate your external montior, itrs normally fn + some other key (i think is f5 on pavillions or something similar), the key will look like a little monitor icon. This will have three state options LCD/Monitor/Both

Ok try this
you can set the secondary monitor as addition to LCD, or as a duplicate. When it is a duplicate, you can switch to turn anyone of them on or both on by hold the "Fn" key and press the screen key (I remember it is on F4).

yeah I guess I was 2 min slow on the post button :) ah well, as long as it's fixed

edit funny thing is, I didn't see those after I posted, the db updates must be weird
