Help me find a laptop!

Trying to find a laptop that is under $500 and can play high quality movies without buffering. Around 15 inches or bigger. Is there something at staples that's good? Staples is the nearest store to me. If there are any other laptops on websites or a store let me know! I want to buy one today.Thanks.

I would absolutely stay away from Acer. From personal experience and plenty of others, their quality is not that good. I see that you have an Acer, Cracker, that I'm sure is running fine, but I would not recommend one to anyone else.

Basically any modern laptop will play high quality movies. The difference is brand and resolution.

Brands I would trust: MSI, Asus, Sony, Toshiba, Lenovo, Dell (Dell would be on the edge for me.)

Brands I wouldn't: Acer and HP.

For the resolution, the stock resolution for most basic laptops is 1366x768. If you want a high quality laptop for movies, I would personally get at least 1600x900, and preferably 1080x1920, but those will cost you quite a bit more.

hey guys, i went to staples and best buy today. I think this one's the best deal http://www.staples.com/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6C10US-156-Laptop/product_424329 that has a $50 off and a $100 rebate so i can buy that for around $500. I don't know about buy used laptops...and this is an hp latop. Is hp that bad? any other suggestions? I might just buy this if I don't see a better deal.
