is ther a motherboard that i can fit both a P4 HT and a core 2 processor? I want to upgrade my computer and i cant afford a new processor and a motherboard together. Thanx for any help

stick with intel chipsets, your future core 2 duo will thank you for that :)

a motherboard with the intel P35 chipset supports : Pentium 4, Pentium Extreme Edition, Pentium D, Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Extreme, Core 2 Quad

how much do you want to spend?

if your budget isnt too low for this motherboard upgrade, i reccomend the asus p5k premium ip35. or maybe a foxconn p35ap-s.

i use foxconn boards, they are not well heard of as they are an oem manufacturer (makes stuff for other companies such as asus, intel e.c.t ) but they are good boards, never had a problem with them :)

Ok so let me get this straight. I need eighter a P35 or P45 motherboard?
Would my processor still work because im planning to take it out of a dell.

Well the P35/45 are good chipsets and most allow lower end Intel chips to work with them.

Also we need to know what model chip you actually have to tell you that. Many versions of the P4.

save a few pounds and go with a p35 chipset, that is if you dont plan on using a crossfire (dual gfx cards) setup.

p35's have been known to have better legacy support.

When do you guys think that the Core 2 processors will stop being used?
I dont want to upgrade processors now just to have to get a new one in a few months.
