Help me find a ram...

does anyone know how many slot does it have for the RAM? I am looking for another 256Mb ram, are they the same as the one for the desktops? please help me find one.

there should be a cover on the bottom of it that says ram on the outside. if you open it up, you will find out how many slots you have for ram. if you do though be careful because static could fry your ram.

and no notebook ram is usually different than desktop ram, but i am not sure that all of it is. mine is 200pin, whereas a lot of destop ram is 184pin. ill try to post some more and see if i can find all the specs.

Thanks alot shupola. I looked throuh the site but did not understand what they said under the memories(Ram) :confused: .

one more question. I hear that the battery dies faster if i keep the lappy pluged in with the outlet. How should i use it? what i mean is that should i just unplug the outlet when the battery is full and plug it in again when the battery is out? I use the lappy almost 10 hour a day so should i turn it off when i am away? or can i just put it into Hibernate?

well if you have it plugged in with your battery in, it is constantly running power through your battery. laptop batteries will only last through so many cycles. this means that if you keep it plugged in with the battery in, supposedly it will run down faster. however i have had my laptop for 2 years and keep it plugged in and leave the battery in and i cant tell any difference in battery life when i "go wireless". there is no absolute values here for how long your battery will remain in good condition. you should probably have a utility called a battery optimizer that would help out some.

as for the 10 hours a day, are you on it the whole time or on for a while and leave and come back later??

if you are just on it for a little while at a time, you can use standby. this puts your comp on a low power setting, but still is running.
