Help me get my hardware working

First of all I don't know much about computers. I just installed a fresh version of MS windows and I dont think my video card is working anymore. I think its a Geforce FX 5200 but Im not sure. Also I bought new speakers and I cant get them to work. When I tried to play an audio file windows media player said "Cannot playback the audio stream, no audio hardware is avaliable or the hardware is not responding". I searched for my card and my speakers in a hardware list i found somewhere in my control panel but I couldnt find them. what to do?
 
You need to download the Video card driver from nvidia. That should fix the problem you have with the Video card.

Sound can be solved by downloaded Ac'97, or whatever sound program is used by your motherboard.
 
There might be an easier way but just download Pcwizard (it's free) and go to the multimedia tab. It should list your Audio controller and thus what audio codecs need to be reinstalled.
