Help me!! I cleaned the registry and destroyed the system!!

Hi all!
I downloaded the software Reg Cleaner, in order to clean the registry because of a problem in a software. But I used this software and cleaned everything. Every option it had I performed it. So now I can' t open any program, or any folder. For example, when I try to open My Documents it opens the search window.Every folder I try to open, the pc opens the search window. The shortcuts on the desktop are dead. I double click them and nothing happens. The only thing that works is the Internet explorer, the Outlook Express and the Windows Live care. I think I have deleted the program that opens folders and files, since at the regcleaner I deleted all the file types.
Please, I would be very pleased if someone can help me save my files and restore the system.

No, there is a virus that uses regcleaner.exe, but the program itself is fine. Most registry cleaners create backups of entries deleted, run the program and look for backups, you should be able to restore all the entries you deleted. Alternatively, if you can get to it, try system restore.
