I cant think off anything else. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME THANKS lee

Well if you only play Call of duty 2, a 7300 should be enough, if you want more eye candy then get the 7600GT, that will render Call of duty 2 without breaking a sweat.

25fps is no where near smooth, I dont know what your talking about. Anything above 40 IMO is good, as long as it doesnt dip below 40.

Aren't movies shot at only 24fps? Those look pretty smooth.

25 frames per second to the human eye IS smooth motion theoretically. I know that its really hard for a game to average 25fps constantly, and even if the average FPS was 25. it will dip below that and jerk at critical moments like when an explosion happens. I have experience ALL is this when I was gaming on my FX5200.

So basically what you're saying is that if you average 25fps, at some points you're dipping well below this mark and you see some jerkiness in the graphics? That makes sense to me. This is what I'm experiencing with the stupid x1650 pro card I have right now. 8800GTS will be here on Friday. :D

Why do you want over like 120fps? Your monitor probably only can display around 70fps. Tell your friend to stop bragging :).

In fact the FPS only needs to be the refresh rate of the monitor if it's an LCD to stop shearing which you can see on a large-ish monitor.

Hey 20 fps is smooth motion to me. I see no difference in oblivion gaming with 20 fps outside than with 60 inside.

20 should be a bit jerky. Theoretically the eyes see 23.94 frames as smooth. It really depends on what method you use to display the FPS, is it the instant one or an average. FRAPS would be an average fps, average over say 3 seconds or something, definitely not instantaneous because the number will not stay constant. I have tried the instantaneous display in UT2004 and the number always jumps around and its not very useful at all.
