alright guys,
whats the difference between a am2 socket and a socket 939 besides the socket, because im looking on ipower.com and the am2 is 489 as configured without a os and the 939 is 649 as configured without a os, and whats the difference between a 64x2 and a 64?? im ordering a custom gaming rig in about a month or two and need to know.
 
Well the am2 cpu are duel core which they have double the L2 cache

And the am2 mobos can run ddr2 ram

that is all i know right now hoped that helped

??? AMD 939 have dual core cpu`s too ! Also have the same cache !!
For e.g.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) 2.0GHZ with 2x 512KB L2 cache
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket M2) 2.0GHZ with 2x 512KB L2 cache

And another thing...

WRONG ! XP does support dual core cpu`s !

The only major difference is the 939 use`s DDR RAM and M2 uses DDR2 !
 
well the ddr2 system is a lot more, but i think thats because they are both dual core but one is a few more ghz and also is ddr2 better than dd1?
 
Get some manners man!!! I like I said i could be wrong. And what is m2 anyways? am2?
